Interesting facts about me

Andy Gregg is retired following a thirty-eight year career as a professional historian, and a fifty-year interest in his home town that he saw move from slow decline to Renaissance. He now splits his time between a classic neighborhood of Palm Springs, California and his native Vancouver.

Andy, and his beautiful, sensitive wife of 32 years, Donna Weber Gregg, co-founder of the women's athletic wear empire, Lucy, share a Mid-Century Modern residence is across the tennis court from three-time Oscar nominee Eleanor Parker, and two streets away from Walt Disney's Smoke Tree Ranch.

Interested in Universal's monster movies since his early childhood, the former Chairman for the Historic Preservation Commission, Andy was recently elected Arts Commission Chairman, a position he will hold until 2019.

Gregg's area of preservation specialization remains restoration of historic motion picture theaters. A particular focus is his beloved Kiggins Theatre, a single screen Art Deco showplace that was designed in 1935 by fraternity brother Day Hilborn, who was also the architect for Andy's 1942 childhood home.  Check it out at kigginstheatre.net.

Gregg's undergraduate degrees in Russian Language and History were earned at Willamette University. He attended Gonzaga University School of Law, and completed graduate studies at Washington State University earning an advanced degree in Public History.
